A Seal We Cannot Break

2 Corinthians 1:21: Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; 22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

Definitions of the word sealed: to stamp (with a signet or private mark) for security or preservation (literally or figuratively); by implication, to keep secret, to attest, seal up, stop.

Ephesians 1:12: That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Ephesians 4:30: And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

2 Timothy 2:19: Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Isaiah 49:15: Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. 16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

1 Peter 1:3: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

John 10:28: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

We who have received Jesus are sealed by the Holy Spirit, graven on the hands of God, kept by the power of God, we have an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance reserved in Heaven, we have eternal life, we shall never perish and no one can pluck us out of God*s hands. We cannot be any more secure. The only uncertainty is how we live our lives here on earth. Out of love and gratitude we should live our lives to please the One who has saved, kept, is keeping and will keep us eternally.
